Rumor du jour: Mirza Begic to Real Madrid nearly a done deal

January 2, 2011

Media in Lithuania and Turkey are reporting this morning that, having departed Žalgiris Kaunas, will be signing with Real Madrid any minute now…

Lithuanina-language Krepsinis.net claims that although Begic also received a generous offer from none other than Beşiktaş Cola Turka, his signing with Real is essentially a done deal.

Krepsinis goes on to speculate that Beşiktaş will now be pursuing Benjamin Eze in lieu of the collapsed Begic deal.

Unless Zalgiris & Real/whoever agrees peacefully on the transfer (which I guess is unlikely if we get into one TOP-16 group), Zalgiris will probably sue Begic and he may be disqualified for quite a while for unitelaterally breaking the contract.

Zalgiris will not let Begic go, unless decent payment from Real/whoever, his agents fucked up Begic career for one and a half years.

The worst in that story is that Begic was aware of what he did when he signed the document (because it was reported that he signed a document that broke unilaterally the contract).

    Go Zalgiris, go.
