Podcast: I may have slept on pre-season

October 3, 2018

The Sweet 16 podcast is back for the 2018/19 season but, umm, there’s one really noticeable absentee in the early going. Due to assorted travels and other work things there’s no BiE in the preview shows. Fear not because, aside from me being back soon, Aris Barkas of Eurohoops and Moshe Barda of Team Scout found some excellent voices to fill in for me in the previews as the team breaks down the teams four at a time.

We begin in Spain where the chaps are joined by Roberto Arrilaga to break down Gran Canaria, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and the 2019 Euroleague Final Four hosts Baskonia. Listen here:

Next it is on to the two Greek clubs, Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, along with Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Olimpia Milano where the chaps were joined by Arale Weisberg to discuss this pack of contenders. Listen here:

And the third show of four, the fourth is on the way soon…like really soon, breaks down the three Turkish clubs, Fenerbahce, Anadolu Efes, and Darussafaka Dogus, along with last seasons’ surprise package Zalgiris Kaunas. The lads are joined by Donatas Urbonas and Bugra Uzar to discuss this group. Listen here:

It’s quite a lot to pack in and the lads have done a stellar job in less than 90 minutes across the three shows. Seriously, it’s impressively thorough. The final preview also won’t feature me because oh my you should see my calendar but I’m returning real soon. For now, enjoy the shows and be sure to subscribe wherever you get podcasts so you can be ready when the last preview show drops.
