Report: Olympiacos to offer Allen Iverson $10 million

August 3, 2009

Yes! In possible fulfillment of this writer’s dream for the 2009-10 Euroleague season, Lithuania-based Basketworld.lt is today reporting that Olympiacos will be extending a contract offer to Allen Iverson.

Reportedly, Olympiacos officials are ready to offer free agent Iverson a two-year, $10 million deal, “exactly the same proposal that was presented to Nate Robinson” earlier this year.

With nothing else on his table, you know A.I. will be thinking about this one … Ball in Europe sure hopes so.

Special thanks to Ball In Europe reader OlympiacosFAN for the tip!

Do not put much trust in basketworld.lt, not a reliable source to say the least. I’m not saying that’s going to happen, but the site has proven be writing more often than not. If they do write anything unique…

oh come on. that “website” doesn’t know a bit about Lithuanian basketball, has about 500 readers and you are claiming they have some mysterious info about Olympiacos? info that nobody else has? oh well… let the rumor grow.

Well, AI should be contemplating on this one. He still has no team he can call his own in the NBA to date. He should still be a star player in a Greek team.

You can visit this site for more info.

$5 million net per season is just about like a $10 million per year deal in the NBA. Good chance he will be in Athens next year.
