La Pistola does it all (in a single play)

January 19, 2012

Amidst a 93-85 Minnesota Timberwolves victory over the Detroit Pistons, Ricky Rubio produced yet another for the YouTube annals. Just watch. (P.S. How can this guy not be considered the no. 1 candidate for NBA Rookie of the Year?)

If I correctly understand the official NBApromo

If he wins rookie of the year prize it would be the 3rd player from 2009 draft after T.Evans and B.Griffith..

I’d say that, right now, only Kyrie Irving of the Cavs is doing better than Ricky so, if the regular season ended today, I would give the rookie of the year to Irving.

But Rubio, who’s doing great himself, has lots of time left this season to overtake him.

I would give it to Rubio right now. Rubio is ahead of Irving in every stat except points and FG%.

I don’t know now Irving is playing great two. It’s basically a two man race for ROY between Rubio and Irving which is going to go down to the wire. Rubio would be the only second international player to win ROY, the other being fellow Spaniard Pau Gasol.

Damn, Rubio is fun to watch. I’d give it to him as well.
