Rod Benson signs with SLUC Nancy

August 25, 2008

Rod Benson, a name known by every NBA blogger and blog reader, has signed a contract with SLUC Nancy in France. He will be with one of the two French Euroleague teams and is already a favorite to be the best Euroleague.net blogger of the season.

Benson is probably better known for his own blogging than for his actual basketball career. But now, according to the once-again excellent I Love Basket Blog, he will take the big step to Europe and play in the best league on the Continent. Being a tough rebounder, Benson should be the last piece for the Nancy management to add to their inside sector. Let’s hope he gives them as much energy as he invests in his own video productions.

Benson is not only a legendary-blogger (but Christophe you are still the best), but he is also a proven D-League All-Star.
I really believe that he will make some good games in the Euroleague.
If he goes on blogging, he will give us a good US perspective on the “Old Continent” and our basketball. And he will put “nancy” on the worldmap !
I am just hoping that he will not get homesick….I lived for 2 years in Nancy, it’s a nice place; but the night-life isn’t really extraordinary.

Trust me, he won’t get tired of Nancy because of the night life. He was in Bismark, North Dakota for 2 years! If you’ve read his blogs on yahoo, you’d see how “un-nightlife” it was (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Too-much-Rod-Benson-Public-appearances-and-smal?urn=nba,70575). He still took it all in though…as read in that blog.

To Eric: If you think the nightlife in Nancy isn’t that great, you should go to Bismarck ND. That was Rod’s last stop and if he can last there for two years I’m sure he will be fine in Nancy.

Sound health is the very goal of any human activity – more so management. Sound mental health is that state of mind which can maintain a calm, positive poise, or regain it when unsettled, in the midst of all the external vagaries of work life and social existence. Internal constancy and peace are the pre-requisites for a healthy stress-free mind. At the initial stages when engaging in a relationship, the mind may wander and go to different places. But we must have a clear aim, a clear focus, a single pointed direction. Thereafter the mind will not wander in different places. The mind will remain on only one.
