Pau Gasol goes for 19 as Spain rolls France in friendly, 77-53

Early enthusiasm about Team France’s chances in the upcoming Eurobasket 2011 tournament may have been dampened a bit in Alameda last night, as Spain displayed all signs of its usual dominance in crushing Les Bleus, 77-53.

Pau Gasol had his way in the frontcourt to go for 19 points, while French media called out Nicolas Batum in particular for lackluster, “trop laxiste” play in the offensive attack. Seeing his first action since the Chicago Bulls were eliminated in the NBA playoffs, Yoakim Noah went for six points and three rebounds in 15 minutes of court time.
