Twenty-four for FIBA Euroleague Women

FIBA Europe yesterday officially released the list of 24 clubs, including eight new entries, that will participate in the 2009-10 edition of FIBA Euroleague Women. The 24 teams will be divided into four pools, with groupings to be determined next Tuesday.

(FIBA) — FIBA Europe has announced the clubs that will participate in its EuroLeague Women competition for the 2009-2010 season.
The EuroLeague features eight new teams among its 24 participants compared to last season.

The competition format of EuroLeague remains unchanged from last year.

The 24 EuroLeague Women clubs will be divided into four groups of six teams each for the Qualifying Round, with the top four of each group getting a ticket for the Eighth-Final Play-Offs.

The draw for both EuroLeague and EuroCup Women will take place in Freising, Germany, next Tuesday, July 21.

The EuroLeague 2009-2010 participating clubs include Gospic Croatia Osiguranje (Croatia); Gambrinus SIKA Brno, USK Praha (Czech Republic); Bourges Basket, ESB Villeneuve, Tarbes (France); MKB Euroleasing Sopron, Szeviep Szeged, MiZo Pécs 2010 (Hungary); Cras basket Taranto, Familia Schio (Italy); TTT Riga (Latvia); TEO Vilnius (Lithuania); KS AZS-PWSZ Gorzow, Lotos Gdynia (Poland); Spartak Moscow region, CSKA Moscow, UMMC Ekaterinburg (Russia); Maxima Broker Kosice (Slovakia); Ros Casares Valencia, Halcon Avenida, Rivas Ecópolis Covibar (Spain); Fenerbahçe Ülker, Galatasaray (Turkey).
