Preview – Estonia vs Great Britain

September 5, 2022

It’s the sixth day of EuroBasket 2022 and the fourth day of action in Group C in Milan. The opening game is as much a battle for pride as anything else as Estonia and Great Britain both seek to get into the win column

Where and when?
Mediolanum Forum, Milan, Italy. Tip off: 14.15 CEST, 13.15 BST, 08.15 EST, 05.15 PST

Record to date
Estonia 0-3 (L vs Italy, L vs Ukraine, L vs Croatia)
Great Britain 0-3 (L vs Ukraine, L vs Croatia, L vs Greece)

What do the bookies say?
Estonia are clear favourites here at 13/25 while Britain are 47/25. The point spread favours Estonia as -5.5 favourites.

What do we say?
Great Britain covered for the first time this tournament against Greece, largely because Greece felt comfortable sitting Giannis Antetokounmpo. In Estonia, they face a young and hungry opponent with far more speed but also a significant size advantage in the middle through Maik Kotsar.

After two heartbreaking close loss in their two most recent games, Estonia will be desperate to give their huge travelling support something to celebrate while Great Britain look ready to pack their bags at the earliest possible opportunity.

The pick
It’s finally your day Eesti, I’m picking Estonia with the points here.
