Preview – Croatia vs Estonia

September 4, 2022

It’s the fifth day of EuroBasket 2022 and the third day of action in Group C in Milan. The day begins with Croatia taking on Estonia

Where and when?
Mediolanum Forum, Milan, Italy. Tip off: 14.15 CEST, 13.15 BST, 08.15 EST, 05.15 PST

Record to date
Croatia 1-1 (L vs Greece, W vs Great Britain)
Estonia 0-2 (L vs Italy, L vs Ukraine)

What do the bookies say?
Croatia are huge favourites at 9/100 with Estonia clear outsiders at 10/1. Unsurprisingly, Croatia are substantially favoured on the point spread at -15.

What do we say?
This is do or die for Estonia, unless they consider Greece an easier prospect. Having lost out by the narrowest of margins to Ukraine on Sunday, this is a must-win game for Eesti if it has any hope of progressing.

Croatia meanwhile will be seriously considering second place as a possibility and, after rough first halves in both their opening games, they will likely be in a big mood to start hot and fast against their younger oppponents.

The pick
Sorry Estonia but this will be Hrvatska’s day. I’m taking Croatia with the points.
