A NBA prospect in the 4th division?

Deutsche Bank Skyliners Frankfurt announced this week that their Swedish PG Rudy Mbemba will play for their co-operation partner MTV Kronberg, a team that plays in the fourth German league. This is a somehow surprising decision in my opinion.

Suprise at the women Eurobasket 07

If you have followed the Eurobasket Championship in Chieti, Italy, you probably know that the Czech Republic is one of the only unbeaten teams and a favorite to win it all. So the Czechs went on the Germans who only won one game so far. Nobody really expected something from the Germans around WNBA players […]

Petteri Koponen goes to the army

Yesterday, I got a mail from my friend Hippo from Finland who follows closely the evolution of Trailblazers Draftee Petteri Koponen. The guard, actually playing for the Finnish top team Honka Playboys, will enter the Finnish army this fall.

Some thoughts on European basketball

Going to Italy was probably the best thing that could happen to me regarding basketball – OK, the food ain’t bad either and the weather is nice too. Oh, I almost forgot the nice landscape and the nice Italian people. But back to basketball. Remember that women’s club in Viterbo I told you about where […]

Lack of organisation?

These days, with regular NBA players emerging to super stars we have to ask ourselves – what is really the difference between Europe and the NBA? Now I don’t want to start the whole thing again with “a different style of play”. Lets hear what a guy who grew up with European basketball and is […]

A Hairdresser's nightmare

Shaun Stonerook is a decent Euroleague player for Montepaschi Siena. After his first season in 2005-2006, where he averaged 4.5ppg and 6.3rpg, he is now back in the top European club competition. But most fans don’t remember his hard working effort on the court, they still think on the worst haircut ever worn by a […]

The best Euroleague Jersey ever?

Lots of people tell me that European teams have really ugly jerseys. I agree to this, when you see some teams playing with sponsor logos all over the place. But without the sponsors, some jerseys can look really good. To see the best one, just check down here.

Working out in jail

Sometimes I am wondering if some of the basketball players know how blessed they are that they can make money with basketball. Latest example would be Lonny Baxter. Lonny Baxter won two NCAA championships with the University of Maryland and was picked by the Chicago Bulls in the second round of the 2002 NBA Draft. […]

A few questions to the Finals MVP

… Cappie Pondexter. Cappie just started her own WNBA off-season blog which looks pretty cool to me – a lot of stuff to read. So if you want to know whats going on with the US National team read her blog. Cappie has been the “main event” of the last WNBA season and topped it […]

Another Warrior about to leave?

It looks like averaging 16.3 minutes with the Warriors is not enough for Kelenna Azubuike. Maybe the fact that 405 players in the NBA make more money than him can’t convince the UK man who played college ball at Kentucky. Or it’s just not enough to support his family again? Remember, Kelenna left Kentucky after […]
