Short Monday’s cigarettes

June 1, 2009

A few small cigarettes only today, so here we go for some nice stories from around The Continent.

  • Who will reach the ACB Finals?
  • In Germany, Giants Nördlingen announced that they won’t play Bundesliga next season and that they wish to return to ProA. As this announcement came on the May 31, the last day possible to avoid a fine, the current season’s last-place team, LTi Giessen 46ers, may stay in the league. However, there is still a possibility for other teams to announce a self-relegation, so everything remains open, from a wild card process to a contraction of the league to only 16 teams.
  • The NBA Draft is coming closer, and the traditional Reebok Eurocamp featuring all the main European draft prospects starts this Friday.
  • The official website of Eurobasket 2009 in Poland is online and  features a superb five-minute long trailer video announcing The Battle of the Giants.
  • Josh Childress explains what the five differences between the NBA and Europe are, according to him. Two of the differences I liked were: paparazzi and players that you don’t even know scoring against you.
